Vocabulary

Learning a foreign language requires much memorization. Not only do you need to memorize quite a bit of vocabulary, you also need to memorize grammatical terms and learn how to apply them.  Reading the vocabulary the way you would read a history text, for example often doesn’t work.  I suggest that you make an index card for each vocabulary word and use those to study.

First study them from German or French to English.

Then study them from English to German or French.

When you think you have memorized all the words, do an activity that has nothing to do with the language, such as home work for another subject area, play a game, watch TV etc.

Now go through the vocabulary index cards again from English to German or French and see how many words you still remember.  The words you have forgotten, you will need to study more.  You may even have to write the words out a few times to remember them!

Take your index cards with you on trips.  You may find time to review your vocabulary on the plane etc.

Homework

Homework is assigned everyday.

It you didn’t get to write down the assignment, please look up your homework assignments at:

www.schoolnotes.com

If you find that the information on that site has not been update, try to call a friend to get the assignment.

If all else fails, do the next assignment in the workbook.
