As the summer is rapidly approaching, you are looking forward to your trip to la Côte d’Azur (the French Riviera).

 

You must first decide upon a city or town where you would like to stay.

 

You then need to find a hotel which suits the needs of your trip.

 

You need to do some research to learn about the various activities and events in and around your vacation spot.

LES SOUVENIRS DE MON VOYAGE D’ÉTÉ

 

Now that your have « taken your vacation » to la Côte d’Azur, you are now ready to make your souvenir scrapbook. 

You will be constructing your scrapbook to keep as a souvenir of your trip.

 

Your souvenir scrapbook must be bound.  It must contain the following :

 

  • cover page with your name and a title in French (Please see class examples for possible titles.)
  • total of 15 complete sentences in French – You may put more than one picture/sentence per page.  Please number your sentences.
  • Each sentence must be written in the « passé composé » tense.  You must use verbs conjugated with « être » as well as verbs conjugated with « avoir. »
  • You must use both regular and irregular verbs. 
  • Since the chapter we are currently studying is about hotels, you need to include a few sentences about your hotel.  For example you may mention reserving a room, checking in, type of room, type of view the hotel has, how much you paid for the room per night, the day you checked out, if you swam in the pool, if you ate at the hotel…
  • Each sentence must be accompanied by a visual from your trip.
  • You must cite the source(s) of your images.  You may shrink the font so the citations do not interfere with your work.

 

Even if you traveled with a classmate, you each should have very different albums with your own personal sentences.

 

You are to write entirely in French using complete sentences.  Please vary your sentence structure.  You should use vocabulary and grammatical concepts from chapter seventeen, as well as from previous chapters.

 

Please write intially in French.  Do not write in English and attempt to translate your work.  Please work at a level which is reflective of eighth grade work.

 

Please pay attention to spelling, accents, capitalization and punctutation.

 

Choose a background and font which complement your pictures.  The layout should be pleasing and easy to read. 

 

Please submit your sentences in advance so you have time to edit your work.
