Why Should I Get an Education?
I should educate myself in order:
To make myself better and stronger;
To fulfill my body's need for stimulation: mental, emotional, spiritual
and physical;
To defend myself, my family and property;
To be adaptable to a changing world;
To expand my horizons so that I might see more of the world, experience
more of life and live to the fullest;
To get the point of more stories, discussions, essays, music and art;
To get more jokes;
To learn to care for my family and friends;
To create a stable, safe, happy and loving atmosphere for my children so
they may grow and do the same for others;
To understand the human condition so that I will be able to understand
myself and others;
To use my understanding of the human condition to help me to admire and,
if necessary, forgive myself or others;
To learn to lead my family and friends toward worthwhile objectives and
goals;
To help my family, friends and me to pursue our dreams;
To discover the responsibilities I have to humanity and the world;
To understand the rights and freedoms of humanity and to be able to attain
and protect them;
To understand my role as a citizen of a democracy;
To improve in some way the quality of life for other people;
To work towards answering the important questions:
What is the meaning of life?
Why am I here?
Is there a God?
How should I go on with the rest of my life?
