TECHNOLOGY PLAN

Masconomet Regional School District created a Technology Task Force in 2008-09 to build upon the 2006-08 District Technology Plan. The landscape of technology integration in education has matured so extensively that State & National standards have been updated to include Digital Citizenship & Ethics standards, Global Education Initiatives, and 21st Century Literacies to prepare today's learners for a very different secondary education experience and workplace. The task force is crafting a plan that is based on these standards so the district is poised to prepare students to be tomorrow's leaders. The information below provides the 2006-08 plan, the MA DOE Annual Technology Plans, and State and National Standards information.

The Massachusetts Department of Education has challenged school districts with the following:

" The primary goal of Massachusetts Education Reform and of the Massachusetts Board of Education is to raise student academic achievement by creating conditions that promote effective schools and accountability for results. In keeping with this goal and those of the Enhancing Education Through Technology Act of 2001 under the No Child Left Behind legislation, Massachusetts provides leadership to schools in using appropriate technology to improve student learning."

"The Massachusetts Department of Education (Department) will use the following strategies to improve student academic achievement and help students acquire technology literacy, as well as to support teachers and administrators in integrating technology into the curriculum."

Masconomet, under the Massachusetts Department of Education standards and guidelines, has made the following technology plan for the years FY06 through FY08.:
