Do these 5 things as you read to Improve Your Reading Comprehension
(Print and laminate as a Bookmark for all your academic studies)
- Write brief summaries in the margins in your own words (use sticky notes if you can’t write on the page)
- Underline key words and phrases
- “?” next to anything that is confusing – try to answer this as you read or ask in class the next day
- Note examples (“i.e.” in margin next to the information)
- Turn your notes into possible test questions
