Koplik Scholarship Information
The Koplik Certificate of Mastery with Distinction is a non-need-based tuition waiver at Massachusetts’ public colleges and universities that recognizes outstanding academic achievement by our public school students. Should your child wish to pursue this certificate, two additional standardized test scores are needed to complete the requirements.
Qualification letters will be mailed out by March 2nd. The application form includes the minimum Advanced Placement and SAT Subject Test score requirements and timelines as well as information on other academic achievements that can be substituted for one of the two additional exams. More information on the Koplik Certificate of Mastery is available on the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s website: http://www.doe.mass.edu/FamComm/Student/mastery.html.
Please note that an initial application for the Koplik Certificate of Mastery with Distinction may not be submitted after your child has graduated from high school so it is highly recommended that you work with your guidance counselor or school’s Koplik coordinator to discuss the application process well in advance of the May 1st deadline in your child’s senior year.
While your child may still be eligible to receive the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship, and may accept both, it is important to note that both the Adams and the Koplik waivers provide the same benefit and cannot be combined.
Should you have any questions regarding this certificate, please contact your Koplik coordinator April Cochran at (978) 887-2323 ext. 6184 (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Alexia Cribbs at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education email at: email@example.com.
