The Masconomet Art Department has been participating in The Memory Project for over 10 years. The Memory Project was started in 2004 by Ben Schumaker. The purpose of The Memory Project is to provide a keepsake for children around the world who have suffered neglect, loss, abuse and often times extreme poverty. This year, the AP Art Studio class created 24 portraits for children whose lives were greatly affected by the devastation of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. This video https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GV0BlADoDxWQZeuFtFZz2l7iyQNPIb9M/view?usp=sharing shows the children receiving their portraits. The Memory Project is a wonderful opportunity for our students to do something for others on a global scale.
