All About Senior Week

As Senior Week approaches, below is a list of helpful information to answer parents’ questions.

  1. Rehearsals & Caps and Gowns:
  • Scheduled every day from Tuesday, May 28, 2019 through Friday, May 31, 2019 from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. An exception to this time period is on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, students are to be in their original homeroom by 7:35 am for distribution of caps and gowns.
  • Caps and Gowns may not be personally decorated or altered.
  • Gowns should be neat before public appearance. Do not expose gowns to water; the color may bleed.
  • All outstanding obligations must be paid prior to receipt of caps and gowns.
  • Student attendance at all rehearsals is mandatory. Students who are absent may be denied the opportunity to participate in Senior Week activities. Please plan your schedule accordingly. If extenuating circumstances exist, see Mrs. Deorocki or Mrs. DiNardo.
  1. Events: All events begin promptly at 6:30 pm
  2. Baccalaureate: Tuesday, May 28, 2019.   Although optional for graduates, you do not want to miss this event.
  • This event showcases the talent of the Class of 2019. Both soloists and chorale perform; there are student speeches and a guest speaker
  • Takes place in the auditorium
  • Seniors must arrive in the gym at 6:00 pm to prepare
  • Student attire: No caps or gowns; students are required to wear semi-formal attire (Yes - dresses, skirts or ties and shirts with collars with long pants, shoes; No - jeans, shorts, polo shirts, sneakers, flip flops, et cetera) Students who do not adhere to the dress code will be sent home to change and are at risk of not being included in the program
  1. Class Night: Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Mandatory attendance for all graduates
  • Class Night is a celebration of Class of 2019’s achievements with presentations of scholarships and awards along with a series of speeches
  • Takes place in the field house;
  • Seniors must report to homerooms by 5:30 pm
  • Student attire: Gowns ONLY + Students are required to wear semi-formal attire underneath their gowns. (Yes - dresses, skirts or ties and shirts with collars with long pants, shoes; No - jeans, shorts, polo shirts, sneakers, flip flops, et cetera) Students who do not adhere to the dress code will be sent home to change and are at risk of not being included in the programs
  • Doors open for guests at 6:00 pm –NO TICKETS required – Parents, families, and friends are encouraged to attend
  1. Graduation: Friday, May 31, 2019        Mandatory attendance for all graduates
  • This is it! The main event! This is an extremely meaningful evening, marking the end of years of hard work and success at Masconomet for your loved one
  • Takes place in the Field House
  • Please remind your graduate that they are expected to behave in a mature fashion, consistent with the serious purpose of this evening. We want them to be proud of themselves and we want to be proud of the Class of 2019 as they move on to their next adventures
  • Seniors must report to homerooms by 5:30 pm
  • Tickets are required for seating in the Field House. Doors will open at 5:45 pm.
  • Each senior class member will receive five (5) tickets on Thursday May 30, 2019 at rehearsal.
  • If you don’t need all your tickets, share them with a classmate or return them to Mrs. Deorocki.
  • Additional, non-ticketed, seating with a live feed of graduation will be available in the Auditorium.
  • Dress Code - Full regalia - Caps, gowns and stoles + Students are required to wear semi-formal attire underneath their gowns. (Yes - dresses, skirts or ties and shirts with collars with long pants, shoes; No - jeans, shorts, polo shirts, sneakers, flip flops, et cetera) Students who do not adhere to the dress code will be sent home to change and are at risk of not being included in the programs
  • Immediately after Graduation, graduates must return to their homerooms. Diplomas will be issued at this time. Graduates will prepare for the All-Night Party.
