Masco Student Representatives for DASH

DASH (Disability Awareness Starts Here) is a program that educates young elementary students about disabilities. Masconomet has had high school students visit the three Tri-town elementary schools in the past three years to present their disability and to take questions from students in each elementary school in the district. This past year, Jonathan Caulfied participated as a speaker with a vision disability. We
have a new student added for this November, to represent invisible disabilities; a specific learning,
language-based learning disability.

One of the parent coordinators, Gretchen Fishman, writes
“Thank you all for your effort in coordinating this opportunity. As always, it is greatly
appreciated. I think anyone who has listened to the last 2 years of our previous Masco
speakers will agree that it is such a positive experience for the younger kids to listen to a
student who has walked in their shoes (and, as a Mom, I have yet to keep dry eyes as I've
listened to the words of wisdom offered by the students)."
