The Student Council and ACE club were honored to welcome artist, advocate, and community leader Thaddeus Miles to Masco’s Black History Month assemblies. Thaddeus is the Director of Community Services for MassHousing, which to date has provided over twenty-four billion dollars to affordable housing. He has gained national recognition for his leadership, advocacy, and service. In February of 2020, Thaddeus launched the BlackJoy project at the Museum of Fine Arts, using photography to share and document the Black experience. This past Tuesday, he was featured in for this work.

At the assemblies, Mr. Miles was interviewed by Junior Class President Chase Quigley, and then participated in a question and answer session led by Elsa Mersha, President of the ACE (Appreciating Cultures and Ethnicities) Club. These were incredibly moving and powerful assemblies, and the Masconomet community is deeply grateful for Mr. Miles' wisdom and time.
