Good afternoon Masco Middle School Families,

I am honored and privileged to write to you today during my first official week as the new principal here at Masconomet Middle School, and I could not be more excited to be able to reach out to you in my new position! I look forward to working with you and your students!

In transitioning to Masco, I express my gratitude to Dr. Mike Harvey and the hiring committee for giving me this opportunity. Furthermore, I greatly appreciate the work that Jim Dillon completed in laying the groundwork and foundation as I transition into this role. I would like to recognize Mr. Dillon for his 22 years of service to Masco, as a science teacher for 21 years and as Interim Principal this past year. I thank him for the time and energy that he has spent in helping me transition and the passion and enthusiasm that he shared regarding everything Masco. He expressed how supportive families have been during his time here and especially this past spring.

As an administrator, I have found that the best parts of my day occur when I am “out and about” the building, whether that is greeting students upon arrival, walking the hallways, or visiting classrooms. Depending on what school looks like this fall, I plan to be visible and present throughout the building both in the hallways and classrooms. I look forward to meeting and getting to know our students. Students, parents, guardians as well as the faculty and staff are the lifeblood of any school, and I am excited to dive into the principal role here and learn more about this outstanding school community.

Much uncertainty exists around what September will bring, and I know that it is at the forefront of all of our minds. The Executive Leadership Team has begun planning for the fall, and we will be engaging with the district wide Leadership Team to develop our plan that is in line with state and DESE guidance and protocols. I will be in contact with you this summer to share important information and updates.

In the meantime, I welcome you to reach out to say hi over email or by phone. My email address is and my phone number is 978-887-2323 x20016.

I look forward to working with you and your incoming 7th and 8th graders of Masconomet Middle School. I wish you a safe, happy and healthy 4th of July weekend!
