Masconomet Remote Learning Plan Update

Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you well.

On Thursday, March 26, 2020, Commissioner Riley shared with Massachusetts School Districts his recommendations for Remote Learning during the Covid-19 School Closures.  The Department of Education expects to share this document with the general public on Monday, March 30, 2020.

I spent yesterday and today meeting with our Crisis Response Team planning how best to meet those recommendations effective Monday, April 6, 2020.  We will finalize a Masconomet Remote Learning Plan by Tuesday, March 31st, sharing that plan with our staff by the end of the day Tuesday, and then with parents and students Wednesday morning April 1, 2020.

Virtual Faculty and Department Meetings took place on Thursday, March 26 bringing our teachers and support staff up-to-date on the information that we’ve been provided by the Governor’s Office, Department of Public Health, and the Department of Education. Today, Friday, March 27th our teachers began the process of re-engaging students in an enrichment and review period via Blackboard that will last until next Friday, April 3rd.  During this time our teachers will be provided enhanced training on Blackboard teaching and learning tools. Next Wednesday we will have additional Virtual Faculty Meetings to prepare all staff for the next phase of distance learning.

Beginning, Monday, April 6, 2020 we will begin our Masconomet Remote Learning Plan that will be in place until Friday, May 1st or as long as the Governor may extend school shutdowns across the state.
