• Mission Statement

    The Masconomet School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) works to promote and protect the health, wellness and safety of all students.  The Council works in collaboration with Tri-Town Council, Tri-Town School Union, our families and our communities to collect and analyze data.  Based on the conclusions drawn, SHAC advises all interested shareholders by providing information, making recommendations for new or revised policies, and suggesting additional programming in order to enhance existing school curricula and services.

  • Comprehensive School Health Model

    SHAC utilizes the Comprehensive School Health Model in its planning process.  This model requires systematic coordination among eight components of health within the school in order to magnify the benefits in each component.   The 8 Components are listed below:
    • School Health Services
    • Nutritional Services
    • School Health Education
    • Counseling/Psychological Services
    • Health Promotion for staff
    • School Physical Education
    • Parent/Community Involvement
    • Healthy School Environment
  • Collaborative Initiative

    Working collaboratively in an organized manner, with various members of school and community sectors, SHAC is a strong advocate for student health and wellness.  Our members include:
