Testing Program Update, 9/21/21
Dear Masconomet and Tri-Town Regional Communities,
We are happy to announce that beginning tomorrow, September 21st, the Tri-Town School Union, the Masconomet Regional School District and the Boxford, Middleton and Topsfield Health Departments have been able to pool our resources to provide a “Test and Stay” Program for unvaccinated, asymptomatic students who have been identified as in-school close contacts of a COVID-19-positive individual. This program is meant to be a short-term solution as we wait for CIC Health to provide us with the resources promised by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to conduct our testing programs. Students who are eligible for our “Test and Stay” program will be provided the details around participation directly by their school nurse. This program will allow our students who are identified as in-school close contacts to continue in their classes with additional health and safety restrictions and the added mitigation layer of daily testing.
We would like to thank the Public Health Agents of Boxford, Middleton and Topsfield Kendell Longo, Derek Fullerton and Wendy Hansbury and our Tri-Town Public Health Nurse Julia Lobel, for assisting us in assembling the personnel and materials necessary to conduct this program. Throughout the pandemic, they have been an invaluable resource and source of support to our schools.
Sincerely,
Mike Harvey
